Congratulations to all the winners in this year's LGA Invitational. It was great to see so many Bent Tree names taking home the hardware in each flight! 96 Ladies competed on Tuesday, which happened to be filled up within a week of releasing the entry forms.
A big thank you to Karen Sandell, Theresa Shattock, Lyn Fickes and all the volunteers who helped make this event such a huge success. To see so many ladies travel so far just to play in it is truly amazing and is a testament to how good the event is.
Well done Ladies, looking forward to 2025!

A big congratulations to Bill Duncan & Randy Duncan who won this weekend's MGA Member/Guest. Bill Duncan (Mr. Saturday as he's well known) sank a 15 foot putt on the last playoff hole against Gary Pyott & John Papadakis, to seal the deal and finish the week in style! Even with the hot temperatures the last few days, the scoring was excellent and course held up extremely well.
A big shout out to John Leach and his crew for maintaining the course all week and getting it in tip top shape for both events this week. Thank you to the F&B staff and of course the Golf Operations staff for working long hours this week to make sure everyone had a fun event for both the Men's and the Women's events.
See you all at the course soon! |

Stirrups are old. They were introduced before the common era from the Asian continent. The whole point of stirrups is to help the rider to have a stable seat in the saddle and provide the rider greater control on the mount. A good rider manages the horse’s direction through the legs, so if a rider’s legs just hang by the side of the horse, it is extremely difficult to communicate with the horse via leg controls and commands. The length of the stirrup will effect the quality of the ride also, so make sure they are adjusted for you. If stirrups are too short, your knee and hip may cramp and that is not how you want to sit for an hour or longer. When your legs hang loosely down the side of the horse, the bottom of your stirrup should be parallel to your ankle bone. Don’t be bashful about asking stable staff to adjust the stirrups so they are comfortable and supportive. The Trail rides are busiest Friday through Sunday, so for the best selection of dates and times call early or choose Monday through Thursday. Either way, call today to schedule your next ride: (706) 692-6322. See you on the trails! |
