Note from the Editor: Submissions to The Echo

We have been receiving many wonderful submissions to The Echo, and we are saddened when each one cannot make it into the issue. When space does not allow, the publisher sends us a proof with what they think is best from what we provided. If we do not approve the proof, a few factors are used to make the final decision: when the article was submitted, the space it takes, the urgency of the information, the relevance to a possible theme of that issue, and the relevance to Bent Tree. This sometimes means pushing some submissions to future issues, but please continue to submit. We work hard to make sure we find a place for them.

Administration & Board Updates:

Horse Pals

Meet Pistol

Pistol is a registered Quarter horse and was a Western Pleasure competitor. Pistol is a gelding and he is bay color with a star on his forehead. He is quite a stately stead. He is the second tallest horse in the stable. Based on his name, you may have guessed that he can be kind of sassy, but basically Pistol is a very chill horse. Pistol is a great training horse. Regarding the herd at the stable, Pistol is an alpha and is second in the hierarchy, so on the trail you will usually find him in the second potion behind the leader on the trail. He really wants to be friends with Ruby as his stall overlooks her paddock, but Ruby has no interest in being his buddy. Well, it might be that Pistol has a crush on Ruby. However, Simba is Pistol’s best friend. Pistol loves attention, so if you are in the barn, talk to him; he’s a good listener. He loves peppermints and candy canes. Come to the stables and donate a snack of peppermints. Call today to schedule your next visit or ride: (706) 692-6322. See you on the trails!

News from the Animal Shelter

Meet our newest rescue: Scotty is an adult kitty who has characteristics of the Scottish Fold breed, with round face and eyes, forward folding ears, short neck and a sturdy body accented by long hair and a bushy tail. Scotty is quite handsome, enjoys being petted, and has been hanging out on Fairlane for several months. He was rescued 7/22/2024. If you have any information regarding Scotty’s owners, please call Linda Blanchette (843 368-7013) or Karen Evans (770 337-7066).

The shelter is bustling with a total of 24 cats-16 adults and 8 kittens. The great news is 4 adults and 4 kittens are pre-adopted and will be going to their forever home soon. That leaves 12 adults and 4 kittens who are hoping you’ll call Meghan Wandrie (248 765-6279) to schedule a visit to the shelter to meet and fall in love with them. To see pictures of the shelter residents, sign in to the BT website and follow the links for Committees, Other, Animal Shelter, and Meet our Furry Friends.
