There will be something for everyone, including a free lunch at noon. Thanks to this event being sponsored by the Bent Tree Foundation, and assistance from other residents, this event is expected to be the biggest ever. Residents are encouraged to invite friends and family with children into Bent Tree for this event. Just add them to your guest list like any other, and have them let us know at the gate they’re here for Public Safety Day. We hope to see everyone there!

Administration & Board Updates:

Board Meeting

The Board of Directors met on Tuesday for its regular monthly business meeting.  Significant decisions included a change to the rules concerning encroachments on common property.  Going forward, all such encroachments will require board approval.  The board also voted to suspend day to day operations at the Stables effective December 31st

Two new committees are being formed.  The first will evaluate the proper use of AGUF fees and fees generated by the Private Pass Program.  The second will be a recommissioning of the Documents Committee.  In addition to looking at clarifications to the existing documents, this committee will suggest CC&R changes that might be needed to enable the construction of an Over 55 community at the Campground.  We would like to increase resident participation in the governance of Bent Tree so we are asking for volunteers to work on these two committees.  If you are interested in working on either of these committees, please let us know by emailing Buddy Creef at buddycreef@bent-tree.com

Ballots for voting on proposed CC&R amendments should be received in the next few days.  Pleas VOTE.  One of the recommended changes is the addition of a Resort Fee that would impose a fee on short term rentals (less than 30 days).  If approved, this fee is estimated to generate $90.000 per year.  Please consider voting for this change.

Please find the recording of the meeting here

News from The Stables

The Bent Tree Board of Directors unanimously voted on a resolution this week to terminate the stable master contract effective December 31, 2024. This means day-to-day operations will cease after this date.

Since it is a very costly operation to maintain our horses, there is no possible way we can keep them offsite past the closure date. Thus, it is only prudent business sense to begin looking now for new, safe and caring homes for all of our beloved and cherished equine friends that over the years we have come to know and love. Time is running short and the Fall season is always the most beautiful and enjoyable time of year to ride. So, please call us now before they are gone, to schedule one last trail ride on one your favorite horses (Dude, Pistol, Thumper, Simba, Spirit) or one last arena ride for your child on one of their favorite ponies (Jack, Peter Pan, Cookie Monster). Call our reservation number SOON at 706-692-6322 to book your LAST RIDE on one of our horses while they are still here.
