Public Safety Updates:

HARDENING YOUR HOME AGAINST WILDFIRES

Our team frequently responds to outdoor fires caused by downed power lines or sparking transformers. Fortunately, we have been able to consistently take quick action to prevent the fires from becoming a major threat. As we are currently experiencing a very dry time of year in Bent Tree, the potential for wildland fires has greatly increased. With fall fast approaching, the changing colors will soon lead to dangerous accumulations of dried vegetation from leaves and grasses.

As we are still awaiting word regarding the Community Wildfire Protection Grant that gained so much interest from residents, it’s important to still take basic steps to protect our homes. Please follow the link below to access a video below with some great recommendations to keep your homes safe.

WILDFIRE PROTECTION TIPS

New Phone Extensions

We have upgraded to a new phone system, and some of the extensions you are used to may have changed. Please listen carefully to the prompts before dialing your extension. Thank you for your patience! We will be publishing a directory on the website and in the new directory.

Mail Center Updates

When you see the mail center light turn green on the Wyze app, it means the mailperson has finished sorting the day's mail. Please note that an Amazon "delivered" alert doesn’t always mean your package is ready at Bent Tree or in a parcel box. Additionally, "hold mail forms" are no longer stocked in the lobby, as they have been taken in large quantities. You will now need to request this form directly. Bent Tree does not manage USPS staff—we're simply sharing this info to help ease any confusion.

News From the Courts Pro

With the 14th Annual Bent Tree Tennis & Pickleball Scholarship Tournament tomorrow, we needed to spruce things up a bit. Volunteers stepped up to assist with some planting and landscaping at the entrance to our Center. All of this was under the guidance of Kristy Coleman. She has an eye and a love for landscaping. Thank you all for your eagerness to assist whenever called upon. You make Bent Tree such a wonderful place to call home.  Please join us on Saturday morning to witness some great pickleball and tennis. You can even enjoy lunch for a small donation. #Teamwork #2for1

Some #FairwayFriday tips and news for you!

Rule 17 “Penalty Areas”

Players may use (2) Options for Yellow Penalty areas.

  • 1) Take stroke and distance relief from the place where the previous stroke was made (in the case of a tee box, you may re tee the ball).
  • 2) Take “back on the line” relief. From the point where the ball crossed the penalty area, keep a straight line with that point and the flag, and walk straight back. Then take relief on that line within 2 club lengths.

Both options require +1 stroke penalty.

Click on the link below to read further relief from Red Penalty areas as well:

News from The Stables

Meet Peter Pan

Peter Pan is a brown and white paint pony. He likes to hang around with his pals, the three amigos, jack and Cookie Monster in their shared paddock. He’s the middle guy. He’s not dominant and he’s not a push over. He’s friends with everyone. He is friendly to horses and people alike. Peter Pan has a dedicated fan base because riders ask for him by name. He is built like a limousine with a long body, making him ideal for those 10-14 year old newer riders. He loves to go to summer camp with the kids and get lots of attention. Indeed if you are brining apples or carrots to the barn as a donation, Peter Pan will thank you. Call today to schedule your next visit or ride: (706) 692-6322. See you on the trails!
