Holiday Guest Entry

Many residents likely remember the extreme backup at our front gate last Thanksgiving.  No one wants a repeat of that occurrence, but Public Safety is committed to ensuring the security of our community by properly clearing guests.  There are four things residents can do to help their guests enter efficiently and prevent major backups that affect both entrance lanes.

1.     Use Gatehouse to input your guests.  When residents enter guests on their own, it reduces phone calls at the gate and frees Public Safety to clear arriving guests more efficiently.  Gatehouse is an underutilized resource that helps Public Safety tremendously.  It is extremely simple to use and likely faster than calling in guests via Public Safety.  Anyone who wants help with Gatehouse can email me at michaelkoorey@bent-tree.com or ask for me at the front gate.

2.     Notify Public Safety of all Thanksgiving guests PRIOR to Wednesday 11/23/22.  We understand that some residents will not be comfortable with Gatehouse, and that is OK. However, if you must call in guests, please do so well in advance of their arrival.  We expect the gate to become much busier as Thanksgiving nears, so please notify Public Safety of all guests as soon as possible.  Once again, if our officers are busy fielding phone calls when guests are at the gate, it slows down the clearance process dramatically.

3.     Email or drop off guest lists at the front gate.  With increased activity at the gate, time for phone calls is limited.  If you must call in more than two guests, please email a list to publicsafety@bent-tree.com, and make sure to specify your name, address, and the time frame your guest will be staying. You can also drop off guest lists at the front gate.

4.     Prepare guests for arrival.  Upon arrival at our gate, guests should be prepared to advise the name and address of who they are visiting and have their IDs ready to display to gate attendants.  A lack of preparation upon arrival at the gate is a major factor that causes delays. To preserve efficient gate entry, visitors who arrive without this information, or who have not been properly cleared will have to turn around and return when ready.

5.     The community speed limit is 20 MPH unless posted otherwise.  Although this will not affect the efficiency of gate operations, we strongly encourage residents to remind their guests that Public Safety strictly enforces our speed limit for the safety of the community.

We are confident at Public Safety that if residents and guests help with the aforementioned items, community safety will be preserved with major delays avoided.  Have a great and safe Thanksgiving.

This has been one of our busiest years at our Bent Tree Shelter. We have had more dogs/pups to get adopted than any year in the past and a record number of kittens and cats.

All of these sweet babies that become ours to get adopted must have vaccines, spay or neuter and any other medical condition taken care of. With a record number of dogs and cats came a record number of vet bills including several costly surgeries and procedures.

The shelter is 100% volunteer run and 100% donation funded. Thank you to all who have generously donated.  If you would like to make a monetary donation you can drop a check at Admin made out to the Bent Tree Foundation - note animal care in the memo line, or click here to donate online- again please specify animal care.

Please visit the new Animal Shelter page on the Bent Tree website here to view our babies that are waiting to be adopted. If you would like to meet them in person call or text LuAnn Chambers to set up a time. 678-414-1047.
