Public Safety Updates:

STORM RECAP AND PREP

At approximately 7:00 PM on 7/30/24, a severe storm front passed through Bent Tree rendering over 23 sections of road impassable and a multitude of residents blocked in. All available off-duty Public Safety personnel responded to serve our community. Members of the Operations team also responded to assist. Our crews worked throughout the night to assess roadways and clear trees not involving powerlines. As of 8/1/24 at approximately 10:00AM, our personnel are still working to clear debris and coordinate with Amicalola EMC to restore normalcy.

Just like the tornado that passed through almost one year ago without warning, this weather incident serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of being prepared. We do not always get warnings well in advance of weather emergencies, and the height of hurricane season is quickly approaching. Please follow the link below and take the time to read the vital information included to ensure you are prepared for the next storm.

SEVERE WEATHER PREP

Note from the Editor: Submissions to The Echo

We have been receiving many wonderful submissions to The Echo, and we are saddened when each one cannot make it into the issue. When space does not allow, the publisher sends us a proof with what they think is best from what we provided. If we do not approve the proof, a few factors are used to make the final decision: when the article was submitted, the space it takes, the urgency of the information, the relevance to a possible theme of that issue, and the relevance to Bent Tree. This sometimes means pushing some submissions to future issues, but please continue to submit. We work hard to make sure we find a place for them.

Please Welcome Our New Tavern Manager

We are thrilled to announce that Weston Gaddis has joined Bent Tree as our new Restaurant Manager.

Weston’s journey in the restaurant industry began right here at Bent Tree, working his very first job at the 19th Hole during his teenage years. Since then, he has amassed an impressive resume with experience at renowned establishments such as Two Urban Licks, Buddakan, Appalachia, and The Last Catch. Over the past decade, Weston has made his mark as a consultant and restaurant opening guru, splitting his time between North Georgia and California.

Weston has been the driving force behind the successful openings of many of your favorite restaurants in Ellijay, including The Roof, Cartecay Pizza Company, and just about the entire square. His expertise and innovative approach have consistently contributed to the success of these establishments. Additionally, Weston has completed certification at the Gala Wine Academy and spent time in Napa.

When we reached out to Weston to leverage his connections in the industry, we were delighted to discover that he was ready to put down roots. While we interviewed several wonderful candidates, he came out the clear choice. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect, and we are incredibly fortunate that he chose The Tavern as the place to continue his journey.

Weston is aware of the feedback our residents have provided about menu selection, and he is excited to create a menu with the help of Dom, the current Sous Chef, that reflects your preferences and enhances your dining experience all while keeping our costs in line. With his wealth of knowledge and a deep commitment to creating a welcoming dining experience, we are confident that his leadership will bring positive changes to The Tavern.

Please join us in welcoming Weston to Bent Tree. We look forward to the exciting new chapter ahead under his management.
