Public Safety Updates:

DELIVERY GUIDANCE & ASSISTANCE

There have been some recent problems with large delivery vehicles that caused blockages at both the front and back gates. Taking extra time to communicate with the company responsible for your delivery is very important. You may have to do this through the company you place your order with. Delivery contractors or companies need to know the following:

1. Except on Little Pine Mountain Road, there should be no vehicle, trailer, or combination thereof that exceeds 8 feet in width, 45 feet in length, and/or 13.6 feet in height. Those are MAXIMUM NUMBERS and may be further limited by our staff depending on what street a delivery is on. Delivery destinations on very narrow roads should generally be limited to vehicles with a 26-foot maximum length. We have a responsibility to help ensure delivery vehicles do not get stuck, run other drivers off the road, or create major blockages enroute to their destination.

2. Delivery drivers need to head to 40 Little Pine Mountain Road via GPS to ensure they show up at the Front Gate. Failure to do so may cause them to arrive at the Back Gate and not gain entry. Delivery drivers generally require further communication and clearance than a typical guest, and that is not something we can do remotely.

3. Simply make it clear that the delivery will be going to a private community with narrow, mountainous roads. Many delivery drivers have abandoned their deliveries upon discovering they will have to traverse our challenging roads.

SPECIAL NOTE: Do not assume that because you ordered a single appliance or small piece of furniture it will arrive in a small truck. Most companies will mix your item in with many other deliveries, resulting in your reasonably small item arriving in a surprisingly large truck.

Taking a few extra minutes to relay this information to the responsible parties will ensure residents actually receive their deliveries as scheduled safely with minimal gate and road blockages. Please email publicsafety@bent-tree.com or call 770-893-2628 for further guidance or questions.

Did you know that nearly half of our medical calls are fall-related? Falling poses a significant health threat and can lead to serious injuries, but there are steps you can take to prevent them and maintain your independence.

Bent Tree Public Safety is partnering with The Lodge at Stephens Lake to offer a Falls Prevention Class on Saturday, April 13th, at 9:00 AM in the Recreation Room of Club Tamarack. This two-hour class aims to educate residents on the common contributing factors to falls and will demonstrate exercises to help strengthen and prevent falls.

Whether you struggle with falling or have loved ones who do, this class is for you. Learn practical tips for fall prevention in your home and gain valuable insights to keep yourself and your loved ones safe.

Administration Updates:

The Bent Tree Board of Directors will be holding a Monthly Board Meeting on Tuesday, March 16, 2024 in the Recreation Room at Club Tamarack at 9 am.

This is an in person meeting and will be videoed for later viewing.

Learning Tree Sessions at The Tavern in May!

News from The Stables

Please join us on Monday at 10:00Am for he Bent Tree Stable Ribbon Cutting. Three new run-in stalls have been completed at the stable to provide protective shelter for the horses during inclement weather. Having a working stable for pony arena rides, trail rides, boarding, summer camps and more in our community is a real treasure. So come on down and join the celebration and be in the photograph.

Angel

Angel is a Shetland Pony. She was a rescue. When she arrived at Bent Tree Stables she had founders in all four feet. Founders affects the blood flow and Impacts where the foot is attached to the hoof. There is inflammation, and it can be painful to the horse or pony. An equine with founders should not be ridden. Angel has made a full recovery and has been able to give rides since 2021. Shetlands have a reputation for being ornery personalities, but Angel is appropriately named. She is a sweetheart and kind and gentle. She is extremely social, and she likes to talk and whinnies often. She is compassionate and has acted as a companion horse for the oldest horse at the barn. She is ideal for children up to 50 pounds and great for photo ops too. Angel loves her carrots. She may even make a special guest appearance a different events. News from the Animal Shelter

WARNING!!!! Cute overload happening …. This little boy dog will be going up for adoption in a few days. He is adorable and too darn cute. If you are interested, you can meet him and fill out preadoption application.

Callie is still needing a foster. Being in the shelter is stressful to her and not good for her thyroid condition. She takes her pill so easily in a little laughing cow cheese. She actually sits there waiting for her cheese.

Please come meet our other kittens and cats as well as our Benji dog ❤️.
