Public Safety Updates:

SMOKING AND FIRE PREVENTION

A vast majority of wildfires are caused by humans, with improperly disposed of cigarettes as a major contributing factor. The abundance of natural fuels within our wooded community makes it extremely important to properly dispose of cigarettes. Improper disposal of cigarette butts is considered littering and carries a $500 fine. Public Safety WILL enforce this.

Smoking is also a leading cause of home fire deaths. If you do smoke, please follow the link below to our website for a short video and safety tips to ensure you are doing so responsibly.

The Board of Directors is sorry to announce that Harold Ford will be relocating and has resigned from the Board of Directors.  We thank Harold for his service and wish him and Debbie the best as they embark on the next adventure in their lives.  Harold’s resignation creates an opening on the board that will be filled by a vote of the remaining directors.  The board would like to solicit interest from residents who would be interested in filling the balance of Harold’s term which ends in December of 2026.

If you are interested in filling this position, please send an email to buddycreef@bent-tree.com stating your interest and explaining why your presence on the board would be beneficial to the community.  Emails indicating interest will be accepted until July 19th.  After that, the board will set up interviews with interested residents in an attempt to fill the position as quickly as possible.

News from The Stables

Helmets are available at the stable and are required for all individuals under the age of 18. People ask if they should opt for a helmet before mounting the horse. Only the individual rider can answer that question because it is their brain they are considering. The point of the helmet is a safety precaution. While in English style riding a helmet is just a standard part of the attire, in Western riding, helmets are uncommon. If a rider does choose to wear a helmet, then the helmet should fit. It should not flop around on the rider’s head. The strap should fit snugly under the chin. Bent Tree Stables has helmets for youths and adults, and if a rider has their own helmet, they are allowed to bring it. The Trail rides are busiest Friday through Sunday, so for the best selection of dates and times call early or choose Monday through Thursday. Either way, call today to schedule your next ride: (706) 692-6322. See you on the trails!

News from the Animal Shelter

Do you know this cat??
This cat was found on Horse Cove Court ( near the boat dock area) last week and is at our Bent Tree Shelter. He was wearing a flea collar when found and is very friendly. Please help us find his family.
Kitten Pre adoption is available. We have soooo many precious kittens that are needing to find homes. Even if not old enough to leave the shelter you can pre adopt and once vetting is done the kitty can go home with you.
Older cats that just need love are waiting for homes too.
We have an older cat who takes meds twice a day and needs a home or a medical foster. She always eats her pill in some cream cheese with no problem and fostering is a great option for her. We continue her medical costs .
Please text or call 678-414-1047 to visit  or answer questions.
