Public Safety Updates:

Bent Tree Bears – Back in Action

With the arrival of spring comes increased bear activity within the community. Bent Tree Safety & Emergency Management has already received reports of bear activity near homes and the roadways. One of the many reasons we enforce our community speed limit of 20 MPH is to ensure unaware animals, like bear cubs, do not get struck by a vehicle. Please drive slowly and watch for wildlife!

To help make sure your home does not become a bear magnet, please follow the link below to the Bent Tree website for a short video.

Save the Date: Learning Tree Sessions at The Tavern in May!

Please view the teaser below for Session Two with Edie Stephens: Bent Tree Incorporates

Did You Know?

Art V sec 8 of the Covenants requires the Architectural Committee to approve all builders doing construction in Bent Tree as to their ability, quality of work and financial stability. Upon the recommendation of the AC, the Board approved the deletion of Art V sec 8 from the Covenants and the issue will now be submitted to the Property Owners for a vote. The AC requested the deletion for following reasons.

First, the selection of a builder should be the choice and financial responsibility of the home owner. Second, the AC does not have the resources or capability to properly confirm and continually update the ability, quality of work or financial stability of the builder. Third and most important, the financial consequences of a mistake in evaluation of the builder could be a substantial hit to the treasury of Bent Tree.

Please vote to delete Art V sec 8 from the Covenants.

Order on the Trail

Horses are herd animals and as such there is a hierarchy or an order. This hierarchy is created by dominance (not gender or size). The alpha horse keeps other horses in their place. The order of horses on the trail follows the hierarchy, so when the trail leader announces the order of the horses, there is a

valid reason, and the horses need to remain in that order. Horses are flight animals, and they remember what scares them, which could be a more dominant horse, so stay in in your order. Also, give the horse in front of you some room. No one likes to be tailgated and horses don’t have eyes in the back of their heads, so they cannot see who is bumping their butt, yet they can sure feel it.  Back your horse off. The Trail rides are busiest Friday through Sunday, so for the best selection of dates and times call early or choose Monday through Thursday. Either way, call today to schedule your next ride: (706) 692-6322. See you on the trails!

Space for camp registration is quickly nearing capacity. If you are still interested in reserving a spot for your child please respond immediately. Call the stables at 706-692-6322 to check for remaining availability.

News from the Animal Shelter

Adopted! Our sweet Honey Dog has been adopted! She has new dad and 2 brother dogs. The dogs liked each other right away and things are going great.

Several of our volunteers and other friends have had their four-legged family members cross over the rainbow bridge recently. We all want to say our hearts break for you and thank you for giving these sweet babies a life full of love. ❤️❤️.

Several residents have donated to our shelter in memory of theirs or a friend’s 4 legged baby. To donate go to the   Bent Tree Foundation web page and hit donate and pick animal care or drop a check off at Admin. Make the check out to the Bent Tree Foundation, animal care in the memo line and include the family’s name of the pet you are donating in memory of.

We have wonderful pets at the shelter. If you are concerned about adopting, please consider fostering.
