Recent Board Actions/Discussions

Here’s a summary of recent actions and discussions by the Board of Directors.

· Held first reading on a proposal to increase the fine for littering from $100 to $500. Final action will take place in June.

· Approved a $2,500 expenditure to upgrade the fire suppression system at the Tavern.

· Created an ad hoc committee to investigate creation of a capital transfer fee for new home purchasers to help fund infrastructure upgrades.

· Discussed revising the lease terms for a AT&T cell tower to provide more income in the immediate future, and also the possibility of allowing other non-obtrusive cell towers to increase revenues.

· Learned that Pickens County has officially released 315 lots from the county Land Bank to Bent Tree. The Land Analysis and Development Committee will determine which lots are suitable for building or other uses.

Hello, I am Tiger Lily. I was a kitten at Bent Tree shelter 9 years ago so now I am 9 years old. A couple months ago my family , living in the Villas was moving and they took me to Wayside Vet to “put me down “. I am a healthy , sweet girl so I don’t know why they did that.Luckily Wayside called LuAnn and she came and got me so now I am back in my old shelter with new friends. THANKS to all for supporting Tamarack Treasures. A final amount will be determined soon but it is in the neighborhood of $7,500 net, which beats the goal by a thousand dollars!
