Public Safety Updates:

GateHouse Information

The fast-approaching holiday season no doubt results in an increased need for residents to add guests to their accounts. We are happy to handle this over the phone for those who need our assistance. However, there is no denying that these calls impede our ability to efficiently complete other tasks.

One of the most simple and important things residents can do to help our department with this is to use GateHouse to input guests. GateHouse is an online guest management service that can be accessed via computer or app on your phone/tablet. On GateHouse, residents can add their own guests, send electronic passes, and be automatically notified of guests’ arrival at the gate. GateHouse is VERY EASY to use. The GateHouse guide for Bent Tree residents can be found in the Public Safety section of the Bent Tree website or by following this link GATEHOUSE GUIDE. Although the guide contains everything residents need to know, below is some information that we receive frequent questions about:

- The website to access GateHouse is https://benttree.gatehouseportal.com. If the generic credentials noted in the GateHouse guide do not work, please call Public Safety at 770-893-2628 to have your username or password reset.

- The most common question we receive is regarding the “client code”. The client code is 190190.

Thank you in advance for your assistance and attention to this. It is a tremendous help to our department for residents to add their own guests, and residents who use GateHouse are almost always happy they did. Email me at michaelkoorey@bent-tree.com with any questions or special assistance needed.

Administration & Board Updates:

Your Vote Matters – CC&R Amendment Deadline Extended to December 6th

We want to remind you about the current CC&R ballot, which includes important proposed amendments to benefit our community. The voting deadline has been extended to December 6th, so please review the information and make sure your voice is heard.

The key amendments include:

  • Article IV, Section 2(d) – Capital Fund Flexibility
This amendment would give the Board the ability to reallocate capital maintenance and replacement funds within the same budget year. This flexibility allows us to address urgent needs and priority projects efficiently, while ensuring all funds remain designated for capital purposes only.
  • Resort Fee for Short-Term Rentals
This fee on rentals under 30 days could generate up to $90,000 annually, creating a valuable revenue stream to support community projects and improvements.

You can vote electronically via the email from Votegrity or by returning your paper ballot. If you need assistance with online voting, please email support@votegrity.net.

For more information, including a video of the recent Town Hall and a presentation on these changes, visit the Board of Directors page under Current Board Initiatives or click here.

Thank you for taking part in this important decision-making process. Together, we can shape Bent Tree’s future!

News from the Animal Shelter

What is the most special but unknown thing about Bent Tree??? That we have our own state licensed animal shelter up behind the cottage by the front gate. Lots of folks still don’t know we exist so please share about us.

We save and adopt out or return to the home they are lost from , many, many dogs and cats each year. ( and an occasional pig)

Right now we have a shelter of wonderful cats and kittens that need homes. We have an older cat who needs a medical foster. The shelter is too stressful for her. She takes a pill twice a day in a little cheese and loves it. We have big personalities to very timid , all colors and all ages.  We have a wonderful sweet dog in a foster home looking for a forever home.

If you are interested or just curious to see the shelter or meet Mia (dog)  please text or call LuAnn at 678-414-1047  or ask any volunteer . We will gladly meet you there to visit.

Tawny was acting shelter sheriff for Halloween . It required some extra bath time to look good 😻
