Recycling
RECYCLING  WRONG COSTS  US ALL!

Once again, we are experiencing a high level of contamination in our recycling compactor. Our processor, West Rock, will not accept loads that are highly contaminated.  A highly contaminated load has to go directly to the landfill costing Bent Tree additional hauling and landfill tip charges.

Styrofoam, household trash and a CHRISTMAS TREE have been our main contaminants.

There is a poster at the recycling/ trash center as well as the signage at the doors explaining what can go in recycling and what can not. Please read them.

IF IN DOUBT – THROW IT OUT - throw it in the trash if you are not sure.

If you have a rental property be sure you educate your renters, they must follow our rules which may be different than where they live.

If you don’t care to recycle correctly, do not recycle at all but please, do not mess it up for the rest of your neighbors who want to have recycling.  If we don’t have recycling our trash costs will go up, costing us all.  Big Canoe lost their recycling due to contamination issues – lets not follow them.
The Tavern will be operating under normal business hours at Club Tamarack while renovations are underway at the Tavern.

Lost Dogs!!

So far in January, our animal shelter volunteers have assisted in getting six dogs home.  That is way too many dogs getting lost to start the year off.  Please make sure your fence is safe, if using an electric fence and collar, make sure they are working, and have identification on your dog's collar. Do NOT let them out loose in an unfenced yard. Walk them on a leash. Update your chip info if it is incorrect.

If your dog does get lost please let the front gate know your dog is lost, give a description of your dog and your contact info, where you live or if lost in another area of Bent Tree.
Our shelter also has wonderful cats looking for forever homes. Please call or text LuAnn Chambers at 678-414-1047 if you have questions about the kitties, want to visit, donations, or would like to volunteer.
