Public Safety Updates:

Holiday Guest Entry

Public Safety is committed to ensuring the security of our community by properly clearing guests. Holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas bring an influx of guests to the gate, potentially resulting in major backups affecting both entrance lanes. We need residents’ help with the following items to prevent these backups from occurring.

1. Use GateHouse to input your guests. GateHouse is an online guest management service that can be accessed via computer or app on your phone/tablet. Once set up with GateHouse, residents can add their own guests, send electronic passes, and be automatically notified of guests’ arrival at the gate. When residents enter guests on their own, it reduces phone calls at the gate and frees Public Safety to clear arriving guests much more efficiently. If you need assistance resetting your credentials or getting set up with GateHouse, call Public Safety. The Client Code you may be prompted to enter on the app is 190190. Take advantage of this great service, and click the following link to access the GATEHOUSE GUIDE.

2. Notify Public Safety of all holiday guests at least 2 days PRIOR to Thanksgiving and Christmas. We understand that some residents will not be comfortable with Gatehouse, and that is OK. However, if you must call in guests, please do so well in advance of their arrival. The gate becomes much busier as these holidays approach, so please notify Public Safety of all guests as soon as possible.

3. Email or drop off guest lists at the front gate. With increased activity at the gate, time for phone calls is limited. If you must call in more than two guests, please email a list to publicsafety@bent-tree.com, and make sure to specify your name, address, and the time frame your guest will be staying. You can also drop off guest lists at the front gate.

4. Prepare guests for arrival. Upon arrival at our gate, guests should be prepared to advise the name and address of who they are visiting and have their driver’s license ready to display to gate attendants. To preserve efficient gate entry, visitors who arrive without this information, or who have not been properly cleared will have to turn around and return when ready. You must possess a valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle in Bent Tree. Drivers who do not have one will not be allowed to enter.

5. The community speed limit is 20 MPH unless posted otherwise. Although this will not affect efficiency of gate operations, we strongly encourage residents to remind their guests that Public Safety strictly enforces our speed limit for the safety of the community.

We are confident that if residents and guests help with the above items, community safety will be preserved with major delays avoided. Have a great and safe holiday season.

Thank You to the Bent Tree Foundation and Donors

Bent Tree Fire Rescue would like to express its appreciation to the Bent Tree Foundation and its great donors for the recent purchase of 4 SCBA masks. These masks are a critical piece of protective gear worn by firefighters to ensure they do not breathe in deadly smoke and other hazardous air. With the addition of 4 masks, our primary firefighters will now have their own assigned fitted masks. This will not only enhance their safety in hazardous conditions but allows firefighters to have more training time with their own gear. It will also eliminate the need to retrieve masks from a fire apparatus, saving valuable time during emergencies.

The Bent Tree Foundation and those who support it have made a major difference in our fire department over the past several years. The donations which purchased radios, thermal cameras, gas detectors, fire tools and ladders have helped Bent Tree Fire Rescue maintain an ISO rating of Class 2, ranking us in the top five percent of fire departments nationwide. This rating helps keep homeowners insurance premiums down in Bent Tree.

With 2024 winding down, this is a great time to make a tax-deductible donation that impacts your own community. Please follow the link below to the Bent Tree Foundation website to learn about their many community enhancement projects and how you can help.

BENT TREE FOUNDATION - COMMUNITY ENHANCEMENT

Administration & Board Updates:

The Board of Directors met on the 17th and decided to pursue a relationship with Traton Homes to assure the viability of the development of an Over 55 community at the Campground and, once proved viable, to bring the development to a vote of the community.

Thank You, Bent Tree Neighbors!

A huge thank you to everyone who stepped up to help with the temporary volunteer effort at the mail center. Your willingness to pitch in truly shows the spirit of our amazing community.

This was a temporary initiative to address the overflow, but if you'd still like to assist today, you’re welcome to volunteer after 12:00 PM.

Should the Postmaster request volunteer assistance again in the future, we will be sure to communicate it promptly.

Thank you for being the best neighbors! Together, we make Bent Tree a wonderful place to live.
